The Importance of Optimal Oral Health

Cosmetic dentistry is great, but oral health is even better. At Center for Cosmetic Dentistry we are committed to helping you achieve a healthy mouth, which is vital to a long and healthy life.
Recent research has shown a link between gum disease and systemic health. Heart disease, diabetes, respiratory disease and even cancer risk have all been linked to gum disease.

To Your Health

Your overall wellbeing begins with a healthy mouth. Our goal is to get your mouth as healthy as possible and then help you to maintain it for a lifetime. It is amazing that people accept bleeding gums as normal. If they had bleeding from any other parts of their body they would be concerned and seek medical advice quickly. It is not OK to have gums that bleed!

Don’t Neglect Your Smile

The first step to good oral health is visiting us every 6 months for a dental checkup. At your appointment, your smile will be professionally cleaned and polished by one of our registered hygienists. We’ll screen for tooth decay, restoration soundness, and gum disease, as well as oral cancer.

As part of your preventative care, you’ll also receive digital x-rays to spot small problems before they turn into bigger (more expensive) ones. Finally, Dr. Mitchell Shapiro will provide a thorough oral examination and discuss any concerns or treatments needed to maintain the attractiveness and wellbeing of your smile.

Is Your Smile All That It Can Be?

It is our belief that having a beautiful healthy smile will enhance the quality of your life. You will age better and achieve more when your mouth is healthy.

A paper by the World Health Organization (WHO) states “Oral health affects people physically and psychologically and influences how they grow, enjoy life, look, speak, chew, taste food and socialize, as well as their feelings of social well-being.”

Combining oral health with a beautiful smile will have a positive impact on both social and financial success as well.
