Your Comprehensive New Patient Exam
During your new patient exam, we will discuss the health of your smile, any concerns or dental anxieties you may have, and if additional treatment may be needed, such as restorative, cosmetic, or periodontal therapy. We will also take a series of low radiation digital x-rays to deliver a complete assessment of the health of your smile. Our goal is to take exceptional care of you and to put it smile on your face!
When you complete an exam with the Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, our team will work to gather all of the information about your smile. To restore your smile back to optimal health, we'll get to know the current state of your oral health by assessing factors like:
- Health and Integrity of Current Restorations
- Bite (Occlusion) Evaluation
- 3D Scan of the Mouth
- Oral Cancer Detection
- Tooth Enamel Health
- Gum Health and Periodontal Disease Risks
Dr. Shapiro or Dr. Palmieri will also take a series of low-radiation digital x-rays to inspect the areas that are not visible during a clinical exam. These state-of-the-art images improve our ability to communicate our findings with you and discuss any needs that you may have. If any signs of oral health concerns are noted, we will use an intraoral camera to show you exactly what we see.
If treatment is necessary, we will provide you with a customized care plan that outlines the necessary steps to restore health to your smile. Our patient care coordinator will review it with you and answer any questions you may have about financial matters including insurance coverage and dental financing plans!
